So, you own a car that you’ve sunk your heart, soul and money into and you want to see how it really performs? While the temptation is always there to just let the foot ‘slip’ a little at the next green light, or perhaps on the freeway on ramp, the only legal and most importantly safe way to truly test your car out is at your local track day. At Prestige Tyre and Auto we’ve been to our fair share of track days and have learnt a thing or two along the way. In this blog we will run you through four of our favourite track in New South Wales.

Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek

The Prestige Tyre and Auto home track! We have spent countless hours out at Easter Creek putting our vehicles through their paces and servicing the needs of our customers. While certainly not in the same sphere as Mount Panorama when it comes to picturesque views and outright iconic-ness, SMP may be the most accessible racetrack for the general consumer in the whole of Australia. From track days to driver training and education all the way to major events, SMP has it all. Check out the SMP calendar by clicking here to tee up your next trip to the track.

Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit, Bathurst

There is no possible way we could leave this iconic track off this list, Mount Panorama is right up there with your Nürburgring’s, Spa’s and Laguna Seca’s when it comes to a pure driving experience. Three hours west of Sydney Mount Panorama is home to the iconic Bathurst 1000 Supercars event as well as a number of other regular events such as the Bathurst 12-Hour for GT cars and the production car-based Bathurst 6-Hour over the Easter long weekend. However, for the ‘average Joe’ just how can you cut some laps around Bathurst in a controlled environment? Well, first and foremost, Challenge Bathurst takes place in November each year and allows you to race your vehicle around The Mountain under a ‘super sprint’ or regularity-based format. Outside of official events, car clubs will regularly hire out the track for a day, so hit up your local car club and have a chat to them about heading out to Bathurst for a day of fun!

Wakefield Park Raceway, Goulburn

Located two-and-a-half hours south-west from Sydney, Wakefield Park has been a staple on national level racing calendars for the past two-decades. The track is predominantly used for track days and private track hire and proves a great challenge to those who want to test the limits of their vehicle. For more info visit the Wakefield Park website by clicking here. Undoubtedly our favourite track in the state and the destination for many-a road trip over the years. Trackschool Trackdays is a favourite of ours, hosted by John Boston who is an avid user of Zestino Tyres on his hire cars. If you’re in the market for a new set of track tires, this is your perfect opportunity to try out some Zestino’s! Wakefield Park is a throwback to old days of motorsport and holds a truly unique, old-school vibe.

Pheasant Wood Circuit, Marulan

Widely referred to as the states best value track day, Pheasant Wood was originally developed as a bespoke driver training centre before being turned into the facility that it is today. From only $175 you can hit this very tight and challenging track with your car. Featuring a number of hairpins and challenging decreasing radius corners Pheasant Creek will keep you on your toes without completely scaring the bejeezus out of you! Car and bike friendly this facility has something for everyone.
